Algebra Exercise : Q.1 to Q.6 , Q.5 and Q.7 , Q.8 to Q.14 , Q.15 to Q.18 , Q.19 to Q. 21
Answer 5.
(a). As the base is same
Answer 7.
(b). First make one of the variable equal for both equations
3x – y = – 5 x 2(multiply by 2)
x + 2y = 3 x 1(multiply by 1)
Now put this value in equation 2
-1 +2y = 3
2y = 3 + 1
2y = 4
y = 4/2
y = 2
So, x = -1 and y = 2
( c ). Bring like terms together
15x + 3x -2y – y =18
18x – 3y = 18
Dividing both side by 3 we can reduce the equation to,
6x – y = 6 ……..Equation 1
10x – 4x + 7y = 2 – 20
6x + 7y = -18 …………Equation 2
Now one variable ‘x’ is same in both the equation ,
Subtract the equations
Now put this value in equation 1 ; 6x – ( – 3) = 6
6x + 3 = 6
6x = 3
x = 3/6
x = ½
So, x = ½ and y = -3
