Arithmetic Exercise :  Q. 1 to Q.2 ,  Q.3 to Q. 7 , Q.8 , Q.9 to Q. 15

3. Divide all the numbers individually

ets-6

After dividing  312 , 112 and 144 with 8  there is no remainder . When we divide 98 with 8 there is a remainder 2 hence 98 is not divisible by 8. So answer is 312, 112 and 144 .

Answer 4(a)

Prime factorization of 372 =

ets-7

Answer 4 (b)

The positive divisors of 372 will be

The meaning of this that the positive integers by which the number 372 can be divided

Here we can find the positive divisor of 372 by using above solution.   1, 2, 2, 3 and 31 are multiple of 372 so multiple of this number along with each other will give us all positive divisor.

1, 2 and 3 are least possible divisors for 372, remaining divisors will be

2 x 2 = 4

2 x 3 = 6

2 x 31 = 62

3 x 31 = 93

2 x 2 x 31 = 124

2 x 3 x 31 = 186

2 x 2 x 3 x 31 = 372

1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12, 31, 62, 93, 124 186 and 372 .

  1. (a)

Prime divisors of 100 are 2 and 5. As 1 is not a prime number we cannot consider it here but 2 , 5 are the prime numbers.

Always solve these types of

problems as shown in side box.

ets-8

  1. (b) Prime divisors of 144 are 2 and 3 only.

ets-9

  1. Prime numbers from integers 2, 9, 19, 29, 30, 37, 45, 49, 57, 83, 90, 91.

Prime numbers are the numbers which are having only two multiples, 1 and the number itself, so here if we refer the review section of integer from this website we can easily select the prime numbers;

2, 19, 29, 37 and 83

  1. Prime factorization of 585 will be
