“A two dimensional 4 lined closed polygon is known as Quadrilateral” .
The sum of interior angles of a quadrilateral is 360°.
Types of Quadrilaterals
Rectangular – Opposite sides are equal and parallel. Angle of each corner is 90°.
Area of Rectangle = L x B
Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( L + B )
Square – All four sides are equal. Angle of each corner is 90°.
Area of square = L x L
Perimeter of square = 4 x L
Parallelogram – Opposite sides are equal and parallel and angles of opposite corners are same .
To find area of a parallelogram always draw a perpendicular to base.
Area of Parallelogram = B x h
Perimeter of Parallelogram = 2(L + B)
Trapezoid
A quadrilateral with following shape where L1 parallel to L2 is known as Trapezoid.
Area of a trapezoid = ½ ( L1 + L2 ) x h
Perimeter of Trapezoid = Addition of all sides = L1 + L2 + M + M
