Triangle Formulas
-
Perimeter of Triangle = L1 + L2 + L3 ; where L1, L2, & L3 are lengths of sides of triangle.
-
Area of Triangle = ½ x base x height.
= ½ bh ; where b = base and h = height
- Very Important thing to remember is that base and height has to be perpendicular to each other for any shape of triangle while calculating the area of triangle. Any side can be considered as a base of the triangle.
Study following different shapes of triangle while calculating the area of the triangle.
Δ ABC ; AB = Height ‘h’ and BC = Base ‘b’
Δ XYZ ; OX = Height ‘h’ and YZ = Base ‘b’
Δ PQR ; OP = Height ‘h’ and QR = Base ‘b’
Δ LMN ; MO = Height ‘h’ and LN = Base ‘b’
Δ DEF ; EO = Height ‘h’ and DF = Base ‘b’
-
Sum of three interior angles of triangle = x° + y° + z° = 180°. Where x, y and z are interior angels or triangle.
